2018

January 20 & 21
9:30 am-4:30 pm
Instructor:  Brett Weaver

After years of painting his landscape paintings in oils, Brett Weaver has begun experimenting with acrylics and has been getting beautiful results.  In this weekend workshop, Brett will teach students how to paint expressive acrylic landscapes that look like oils.  This workshop is perfect for the oil painter who is wanting to switch to acrylics in order to avoid paint fumes or has allergies to oil-based paints.  It is also perfect for acrylic painters who want to get their paintings to look and feel more like oils.  Students will be working with Golden Open Acrylic Paints which have a longer drying time than ordinary acrylic paints.  Brett will lead students through various techniques and the layering and blending capabilities of these paints.  Brett will also touch on the fundamentals (composition, design, color theory)  that are important in painting no matter what the medium.

There will be a one-hour lunch break each day.  Feel free to bring your own lunch or enjoy plenty of dining options in our downtown/southside neighborhood.
